1: Introduction to CNC & Safety (10 Hours) CNC

(Computer Numerical Control) is an automated machining process controlled by computer programs. Applications include furniture making, carving, signage, and decorative panels. Main parts: spindle, controller, motors, guide rails, bed. Safety practices: Always wear PPE such as gloves, goggles, and ear protection. Avoid loose clothing and ensure proper grounding of machine. Practical: Identify machine parts and perform safety drills.

Module 2: Basics of Wood & Tools (10 Hours) Types of wood: Hardwood (strong), Softwood (easy to cut), MDF, plywood. Understand grain direction and moisture impact. Cutting tools: End mill (cutting), V-bit (engraving), Ball nose (3D carving). Practical: Tool mounting and identification .

Module 3: Computer Basics (10 Hours) Basic computer skills:

file management, folder creation. File formats: DXF, STL, G-code. Understand CNC workflow: Design → Toolpath → Machine. Practical: Save and open design files .

Module 4: CAD Design Basics (20 Hours)

Use CAD software to create 2D drawings. Tools: Line, circle, rectangle, dimensioning. Introduction to 3D concepts. Practical: Design nameplate and simple patterns .

Module 5: CAM & Toolpath (20 Hours)

CAM converts design into machine instructions. Toolpaths: Profile, pocketing, engraving. Understand feed rate and spindle speed. Practical: Generate and simulate toolpaths .

Module 6: Machine Operation (20 Hours)

Steps: Setup → Clamp → Zero setting → Load G-code → Run. Check alignment and tool condition. Practical: Perform test cuts and adjust settings .

Module 7: Practical Projects (20 Hours)

Projects: Nameplate, key holder, wooden sign, furniture parts. Focus on finishing, accuracy, and time efficiency .

Module 8: Maintenance & Troubleshooting (5 Hours)

Regular cleaning and lubrication. Troubleshooting: tool breakage, vibration, rough finish.

Module 9: Final Project & Assessment (5 Hours)

Complete project using full workflow. Evaluation based on quality and understanding.
